Just 5 More Days...

Spring is here!

My dear readers,

As I write this, sunlight streams through my window, casting golden patterns across my desk—a far cry from the frost-etched panes of just weeks ago. Spring has finally burst upon Edmonton, and with it, my heart has awakened from its winter dormancy.

I've been blissfully absent from my writing desk these past few days, surrendering to the siren call of soil and seed. My fingernails perpetually bear the telltale crescents of earth as I prepare our garden beds. There's something profoundly satisfying about working the soil after it thaws!

Yesterday, I nestled dozens of spring bulbs into their new homes, whispering promises of care as I covered them. Each one holds potential joy, tucked away like secrets waiting to be revealed in bursts of color. I've chosen tulips in flamingo pink and daffodils with centers like tiny suns—flowers that mirror the intensity of emotions I pour onto the pages of my novels.

But what nearly moved me to tears was discovering that my fall bulbs survived our merciless Edmonton winter. Against all odds, their green fingers have pushed through the earth, reaching skyward with stubborn determination. I knelt beside these resilient harbingers of spring and felt a kinship with their persistence. Isn't that what we all do as dreamers? Push through harsh conditions, seeking the light?

The garden planning consumes my evenings now, mapping out where each vegetable and flower will live. It's not unlike plotting a novel—creating relationships between characters, ensuring each has space to flourish.

"Second Chapter" Coming to Life!

My heart is racing with anticipation as we count down the final moments until Second Chapter enters the world—just 5 more breathless days until May 7th! Thomas and Oliver's story has lived within me for so long, their voices whispering in my mind during quiet moments, and now they're ready to find their way into your hands, your hearts.

To those who've already claimed your copy through pre-order—your faith in these characters before meeting them fills me with gratitude beyond words. You've given them life before they've drawn their first breath in your imagination.

Until next week, may your own dreams take root and flourish.

With warmth,

C.G.

“I shouldn’t be here. I shouldn’t be staring at her like she’s mine. And I definitely shouldn’t be considering whisking her away to The Underworld with me. But I might.” - Hades

Hades has visited Kore for centuries while remaining invisible, so when he’s given the chance to reveal himself and save her from the imprisoned life Zeus provides, he doesn’t hesitate. He’ll show her what life can feel like if you let it. And he’ll never let her go. But can she give up her life as a goddess to become Queen of The Underworld?

“I was alone for two thousand years. Watching everyone else live their life from the confines of my forced innocence. Until he came along. Until Hades showed me the stars amid the darkness.” - Persephone

Derek Michaels is the high school band director for the small town of Everest, Alabama. He enjoys quiet country life, loves his job and students, and is no stranger to the kitchen (thanks to his lactose intolerance). But not everything is as idyllic as it seems. The Band Misters (a name the local band directors call themselves), led by Greg Howard, is not exactly a welcoming group. Derek doesn't fit in but hasn't been able to stand up to them, either.

Now that a new director, Elle Foster, has taken the position at Everest Middle School, the group is more oppressive than ever. Derek knows that Elle is a great teacher... and takes his breath away, too, but the group will not accept her, and a tragic event from his past keeps plaguing his thoughts.

Can Derek help Elle find her footing in Everest, or will history repeat itself, leaving him alone and heartbroken?

Hi Reader! I have been DYING to share this news with you, and the day has finally arrived! Are you ready? Because I'm about to make all your Preston dreams come true. Introducing: CONFLICT OF INTEREST (Bedside Manner 2)! Remember how I told you Preston York stole my heart while I was writing Bedside Manner? Well, I wasn't kidding. I've been living and breathing his story from the moment I finished the very first chapter he appeared in Bedside Manner, and I'm thrilled to announce that I've...

Hi Reader! Can you believe it's almost here?! Bedside Manner releases THIS MONDAY, and I'm bursting with excitement (and maybe a few nervous butterflies). If you haven't snagged your pre-order yet, there's still time! Trust me, you don't want to miss watching the Ice King melt for his Trauma Cowboy. Here's what you're in for: Dr. Maxwell York runs his cardiothoracic department like a well-oiled machine—precise, sterile, and perfectly controlled. Dr. Jax O'Connell? He's pure, beautiful chaos....

Hi Reader! It has been a whirlwind week over here! I officially sent out the Advance Reader Copies (ARCs) for Bedside Manner, and I’ll admit, I always hold my breath a little bit when I hit "send" on a new story. But the first few reviews have already started trickling in, and I am honestly floored by the reaction to Dr. Maxwell York and Dr. Jax O'Connell. It looks like the "Ice King" and the "Trauma Cowboy" are already stealing hearts! Here is what early readers are saying: 5/5 "I truly...
